Policy decision strengthens yen

The Japanese yen strengthened greatly yesterday as the Bank of Japan (BoJ) decided against expanding its monetary stimulus until it has taken enough time to assess the impact of negative interest rate. On the back of this, the yen strengthened against sterling by 2.43%, to the strongest point it has been in two weeks.
