020 7898 0500The South African rand was hit with more losses yesterday as the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters, Malema, threatened to remove President Zuma with the use of arms, adding further uncertainty over the future of the government. As a result of this, the rand was the worst-performing emerging market currency yesterday, weakening 1% against the US dollar, making rand purchases the cheapest within the past two weeks.
